Standing Committees
Membership Increase membership through community outreach events. Strengthen membership relationships via social events.
Communication Create content for website, social media, and printed materials. Letters to Editor.
Fundraising Create and manage fundraising campaigns. This includes locating fundraising opportunities, developing relationships with potential donors and managing fundraising campaigns.
Events Working Groups Manage a single event or fundraising activity – such as picnic, fair, plant sale, or yard sale.
Election Field Committee Coordinate the “soup to nuts” in getting our candidates elected: petition signings, lit drops and canvassing, poll greeters, sign distribution, mailings and texts.
Volunteer Coordination Maintain our database of volunteers, and recruit volunteers to help on various projects.
Executive – responsible for the processes of the club including, but not limited to by-law revisions,
policy, mission, vision, club structure, etc. (reserved for officers & committee chairs per bylaws).
The Executive Committee consists of the Officers, the Committee Chairs and At-Large Members.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF OFFICERS
President
Presides over club meetings.
Organize speakers and events either directly or by task delegation to members.
Carries out directly or delegate to members any special directives as voted on by a majority vote of the executive committee members.
Signs checks and authorizes electronic funds transfer and credit card purchases over $250, jointly with the treasurer.
Vice President
Assists the president and club officers and, in the absence of the president, shall perform the duties of the president.
In the case of an absence of the secretary at a meeting, the vice-president will take minutes.
Secretary
Takes minutes at all meetings. In the case of an absence of the secretary at a meeting, the vice-president will take minutes.
Publishes electronically previous general meeting’s minutes to all members no later than 7 days prior to the next general meeting.
Publishes electronically the previous executive committee meeting’s minutes to all executive committee members no later than 7 days prior to the next executive committee meeting.
Keeps an updated membership list and keep records of attendance at each general meeting .
Publishes the general meeting agenda electronically to all members no later than 48 hours before a general meeting.
Keeps all documents, records, and correspondence of the Club.
Treasurer
Establishes and maintains an account in a financial institution approved by the officers.
Collects and records membership dues.
Records and deposits any funds collected from any source into the financial institution within a reasonable time frame.
Only disperses funds in excess of $250 once an expenditure has been directed by a majority vote of the executive committee. However, expenditures over $1000 shall be approved by a majority of the members at a general membership meeting.
May sign checks and authorize electronic funds transfers and credit card payments up to and including $250. The president and the treasurer shall jointly sign checks and authorize electronic funds transfers and credit card purchases over $250.
